Hawke’s Bay Landscape Photography by Jos Buurmans

Jos is a dedicated landscape photographer, deeply rooted in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand for over 15 years.

Jos lives in Havelock North, at the base of the iconic Te Mata Peak, a regular subject of his photography. For him, landscape photography is more than a craft—it’s a harmonious blend of exploration, creativity, technology, and connection that brings a profound sense of well-being. Whether it’s traversing winding trails, chasing the perfect light, or simply immersing himself in the natural world, photography offers endless opportunities for discovery, inspiration, and reflection.

His work extends beyond capturing the stunning landscapes of Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand and occasionally further afield.  He finds fulfilment in sharing his knowledge, helping others develop both the technical skills and creative vision needed to bring their photographic aspirations to life.  Through his images and teaching, he strives to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the art of photography, inspire a lasting connection with nature, and encourage stewardship for the beauty of our planet.

After several decades of being a part-time photographer, Jos became a full-time landscape photographer in 2023 to further explore and enjoy the outdoors, add more photos to his extensive portfolio, and pass on the joy of photography and his skills to others.
